What do mean COULD stretch?? The equator goes all the way around the earth. So the equator is the same length as the circumference of the earth!!

Depends. How long will Earth be bombarded by stardust, comet tail ash, asteroids and stuff we do not even know about? Not to mention earth grown volcanic exposions dragging up hot rock from the earth's core.

We are a growing planet.

it can't stretch, it isn't made of rubber or elastic, if you want to know how long the equator is then google it.
