There was a big bean canning factory in downtown Boston. One day it exploded and all the beans went every where and covered the whole town. It took them weeks to clean it up. That is why Boston is called Beantown.

Boston is known for it's baked beans that are simmered in old fashioned crocks with molasses and brown sugar. Seattle has it's coffee, Philly has cheese steaks and Beantown has beans.
