I don't know what a professional would tell you but I love when a band really interacts with and includes the audience. You gotta be personable and out there having fun and making it obvious that you are performing your *** off for those people. For instance, to this day Poison is still my all time favorite band to see live. They just put on such a great show. They get everyone all revved up and ready to go and Brett Michaels is a great crowd pleaser.

The best advise I've ever heard was this:

When you are on stage, with a guitar in your hand, rocking out, it is impossible to look bad. As long as you remember this, you can just do whatever you want on stage and know you will look cool.

The best part is it works. If you just start moving around and letting yourself go, you will think "boy I'm acting like a tard here". But after the show people will say how cool you looked.
