My Sony DVD recorder can with Nero... It's awesome. For backups, I use Roxio.
I have also used http://www.123CopyDVD.com with great success. (It's not FREE) You will also find this at your local STAPLES store, where you find the EASY button.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Yea Nero 6 or 7 are good
BUT if you are talking about copying a DVD first then you will need a programm called DVD Shrink this will decrypt and encode your movie ready for burning with Nero

I Tend to like NERO, although Windows Media Center does an adequate job burning CD's and DVD's.

The most complete & comprehensive (user friendly) software on the market is Nero....period.
http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero_7_UE_Full_Installer.php
Well worth the money.
Add DVDShrink to your arsenal & you will also be able to "backup" any & all copyright protected DVDs :

(uses the Nero engine to operate)
