I think they do a lot of times. I like to give responses that have at least some substance to them (most of the time). I'm usually after the best answer, not just the 2 points for posting a "yes" or "no." Besides, it feels better knowing you're helpful. Of course, this means it will take me forever just to reach level 3... :o)

Yeah, is that not really weird? I mean what does it MEAN to get a lot of useless POINTS? Why not just give it our best effort and stop wasting each others' time? That is just my personal opinion. If we answer these questions with a bit of integrity, then the levels start to have some weight. BTW: I do find it funny where others just said yes, two points please! HAH!

My guess is that 99% of the points people earn are earned by that method. Those empty points are so important to some people, and I have no idea why. What does it prove?
I've seen people who answer questions with "I don't know." That makes me think those people look at this website as an exam and they have to answer every question. Either that, or they are so full of themselves as to think the question was asked directly to them, so they are compelled to answer, and nothing is complete without their input. Yeah, right.

I think so.
I try and find an article or information relating to the person's query and point them in that direction. It always amazes me how people can sign up to yahoo create an account on yahoo answers and ask a question that can be easily answered by a 10 second search on google.

Sometimes or if it is a really hard question but they feel helpless to give advice for someone who needs it so they may make a attempt to try or let the asker know at least we took the time to read their question and thought about it.
I don't know if this makes sence??
Good luck. :-)

Yes
Another pet peeve: copying and pasting an answer they got off the internet. Any idiot can do that, people are usually looking for PERSONAL answers.
