Daniel Ortega was just re-elected to power in Nicaragua. Link to story - http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070110/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/nicaragua_ortega_s_return

Now Bolivia requires US Citizens to have a visa to visit there country. Is our foreign policy and intervention in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia causing a backlash that will come to haunt us in the near future? As a country should we mind our own business and only intercede in another country's business when asked?

Yes, look at what happened when the u.s. interfered in Nicaraguas business in the 80's.. they murdered hundreds of Nicaraguans and smuggled drugs via their 'anit-communist' contras. Look up "IRAN-CONTRA" on google. There is so much more to that scandal that isn't recorded anywhere.

Daniel Ortega was elected a while ago, today is his inauguration. Nicaragua Libre!

You have brought up a very serious issue, and there are countries all over Central and South America that have moved towards leftist governments because of a backlash against United States policies. The Bush Administration has acted as if we are an Empire and we can do what we want. GWB has stated as much with his "Bush Doctrine".

Bolivia is a drug producing country rivaled (in SA) only by Columbia. The government is on the payroll of the drug cartels. Americans shouldn't need a visa if they want to go there, they should have a complete psychological work up.

And hooray for Nicaragua putting Ortega back in. Now they can work on thier next losing project, building a new canal to rival the Panama canal.
