Last year. I also give to a couple of elderly ladies with chocolates. It brightens their day. After my father died I did the same for my mum.

The first and last time I gave a card was when I was 10 (7 yrs ago) and in 6th grade. I left the card (home made) in her desk. She then ripped it to pieces and threw it in the garbage. I was teased for weeks. The first and last time I got a card was in 7th grade.

Last Year, on Feb. 14th. I gave one to family members and friends but the most important one was to my other half. Same date for recieving one.

I send VD cards every year to all my friends and family. With everything to do in December, it's just too hard to send Holiday cards. So instead, I send my yearly greetings in February. I think it makes it special, my card doesn't get lost in the mix, and some who never get VD cards will.
The only draw-back is that I've noticed we don't receive as many Christmas cards as we used to. You know, those who just send to the ones who send to them rather than sending because they really wish you a joyous season.
