I just read a newspaper article about this guy R.James Woolsey and his ideas about electric cars and reducing our oil dependency...why can't we get a moderate President like this? He seems to have a pretty amazing resume to me.

My question really has nothing to do with electric cars. If you look at this guy's resume (see bio with wikipedia link), he seems to be a "conservative" on some things (like foreign policy) and a "liberal" on other things (like protecting the environment). My question is why do the Dems & Republicans keep giving us chartoon charicatures like Nancy Pelosi and Rick Santorum? This guy isn't "my guy", and I don't know whether I'd vote for him or not. I had never even heard of him before reading the paper this morning. He just seems like the type of person that I'd like to hear more from instead of getting the same old partisan B.S.

He was director of the CIA, so obviously he is not a "one issue man".

I think you have to be a little dumb and a little crazy to run for President.

You can make tons more money elsewhere.

Maybe it's a power trip!

Anyone who was acting out of noble motives and willing to put up with the torment would probably be a monk instead.

Who wants to deal with all the media coverage? Not me!!!

The job is torture, 24/7/365. Look at the pictures of how each president aged in office.

Why should he be President? Why not Secretary of Energy? A President has to handle a lot wider assortment of issues than just electric cars.

There are a lot more important issues on the national table than electric cars (which, if the market will support them, will be made and sold). We know nothing about your guy's vews on any of these issues, or (more importantly) his skills on selling those views.

You're right. We need a moderate and somebody who won't pander to any base but just be themselves.

amen to that. we need a president that thinks of humanities future and not just what we can gain from the present or how much we can destroy.

ummmm, what do we do with the 600 lb. batteries when they go bad?

people have been turning corn into alchohol for 200 years. maybe we should look into alternative fuels that are a little "greener" than cadnium, lithium and mercury.

Kind of a "one issue" man. Electric cars will not help if Iraq or Korea is in charge.
