What exactly is the point in an internet relationship? If all you want is a friendship, someone to talk too then I guess it would work but eventually a person needs more than just an emotional connection with a boy/girlfriend so the dynamic of the relationship would have to change. If you do this then make sure you are investing time with someone you have a chance of actually meeting someday.

I have been in an internet relationship but it didn't work out. I find that most of the time people pretend to be something they aren't and when you figure that out, its too late. I would never recommend it to anyone. BUT if you know someone from before that you met in real time and for whatever reason you are seperated, it is a good way to communicate in a long distance relationship

Never again. I did for about two months and it was driving me nuts. Obsessed with e-mail and such! NO! There's the possibility you meet and there is no connection. I had a roommate who spent hundreds of hours on an internet relationship. He flew into California and they could barely hold a conversation. They never spoke again. Find someone who can hold you, hold your hand, do things with you, etc.

Good Luck!

I have a friendship with three girls on the internet but I wouldn't have a boyfriend over the internet. I don't trust it. I guess if you already know the person then you can but other than that I wouldn't.

No.
You don't know who you are talking to, it could be a child, or a child rapist. It could be a man impersonating a woman, or a woman impersonating a man. The person could be a serial killer in prison, or on parole, a pedophile, or a wife beater, or a human hater-I think the general term for that last one is a racist, but it boils down to the same thing.

had a friendship once over the internet, that ended too, never really know who is on the other end of the relationship talking to you!

As friends, sure but as boyfriend, no thank you. I will rather to meet him in person. If you willing to meet a person by internet relationship, you won't know everything, it just that you can't see him or her.

yeah i suppose, i've several friends i've not seen in person for over a year.
though for me the long distance romance thing is really a case by case thing. Some are worth the effort, and some, for me are not worth it.

Peace
