I have both a hunter and a rogue that I am leveling at the same time (both level 58 at the moment)

My rogue does more damage (average 10-20 points more per second). Especially in the beginning of a fight (Cheap Shot, out of Stealth to start most of my fights).

The hunter is more durable. He RARELY dies. Between having his pet (almost a second character), his heavier armor and the Feign Death all mean that he has very few excuses for dying (although, I would trade a hunter's Feign Death for a rogue's Vanish any day).

If you need to choose, it woudl depend on how sociable you are. If you tend to operate in a group, pick a rogue. Groups can use a rogue's Crowd Control abilities (Sap and Cheap Shot to stun opponents). If you solo a lot, pick a hunter.

A rogue I think is better end game. You will do alot of damage and will crit a insane amount of times. Unlike what one of the other people said about a hunter killing monsters higher level a rogue can do it too maybe just as easy. A good rogue can keep a enemy stunned for maybe the whole battle. So to answer your question I say a rogue is alot funner and will do just as much crit as a hunter...if not more.

Well, Rouges are great in the first few seconds of the battle, they deal more crit then hunters in the first seconds, with rouges it may end up being a short battle.

Hunters with a good pet, can battle for a while and take out enemies that are rated higher then them it is a pain to do, but they can do it.

a hunter alchemist is pretty great. This is what I am. I get into a battle and if the warriors fall or get low you can have your pet argo. keep them healed and let the group healers get the warriors going again.

I have a ton of fun with my hunter, but I soloed alot. In a group having a good rouge is essential.

I think it all depends on how well geared each char its. i got my hunter to lvl 47 and got bored. i got a rogue up to 26 right now and i am still playing it. from lvl 20-50 it is easier for a rogue to get a PUG than a hunter in my opinion. as far as end game both and equal no class is better in the end game.
