Integer division returns the WHOLE NUMBER (Integer) part of an answer to a division problem - 9\4=2 because 4 goes into 9 twice, with a remainder of one. The compliment function to that is the MOD function, which only returns the remainder of the problem, not the whole number part. 9 MOD 2 = 1 because when you divide 9 by two, it has one remainder.

If you were to divide 7 by 4 you would get an answer of 1 because the answer has to be an integer..but if you had one of the numbers set to a double (7.0 / 4) or (7 / 4.0) you would get a number with decimals....
