I'm currently in the same situation so I feel you bro. First thing's first, do you want to be friends with a girl that betrayed you? It will only bring back memories of the betrayal every time you speak with her. It will get you even more frustrated if she starts talking to you about her new flame. I suggest no contact for now. Let time clear up your feelings for her first (if you indeed still have feelings for her). Perhaps in 6 months time, you can try. But the person before this post was right. Relationships are based on trust, so if that's gone, what would you base your friendship on? And why do gals always say they want to be friends after they stab you in the back...I don't get it.

All relationships are based on trust so if a love relationship was damaged due to betrayal of trust I doubt you could carry on a healthy friendship.

Sometimes, after a break-up, they can no longer hurt you. The pressure is off and the friendship can start. Just never trust them with your heart again.

Can you be a little more specific? I believe that you can be friends with someone after being lovers but sometimes it takes time to get over the past hurts depending on what they are.
