Artist whose works are usually illusions, such as stairs that lead both up and down, birds whose negative spaces turn into fish as you look across the page, etc. I think his first name was Francis. Ecker. That's all I can do for you from memory, but it may help.

Do you mean Escher? MC Escher. (1898-1972) Dutch Graphic Artist. He has an offical web site I know. Google that.
