Where can I find pants with a short inseam.....?

I have the hardest time finding pants for work! I work in a professional atmosphere and cannot find dress pants in my size! im only 5ft tall and weigh around 100 pounds! I wear between a size 0 and 1! the problem is all the pants are too long! I would buy some and get them hemmed but that cost quite the chunk of change! I would hem them myself but I dont know how! so what are some good stores to shop at (Exclude Pac Sun... I already know that one thats the only place that I can find pants at, but dress style is limited)? Also where could I possibly pick up the skill to hem pants? Like a local fabric store (looking to take classes maybe)? HELP! So frustrating!

yeah I know how to sew buttons on and minor mishaps but Im no sewing queen! We had to learn how to do it a little when I was in middle school but Im 23 now and that was a long time ago! Yeah growing up in my household that was not a taught trade! Sorry!

I have the same problem. Due to growth hormone deficiency, I'm 4' 10" and wear a size 14 (GHD is known for giving people a chubby build and the smallest I've worn is a 12.) I find I have to take almost six inches off the pants and four inches off petite pants, and I won't even go into all the stuff that has to be done for blazers! I would bet you can find a tailor who is sympathetic to the problems you have as a small size person. Thankfully, mine is right down the street from me. He rarely ever charges much for a hem or two. It may take some searching, but you can find a good tailor who understands.

In the days before I found Mr. Delvecchio however, I used Aleene's OK To Wash It to do inner hems on certain fabrics. They ended up looking nice, but I believe nothing beats a good stitched hem.

Wow...you don't know how to sew?!? I know that seems like a terrible thing to say, but my wife doesn't know how either, and it just blows me away. Growing up, we had to learn all kinds of stuff. I know not everyone grows up in the same atmosphere, so my apologies if I made you mad.

Anyway, you can hem them yourself. Try on your pants and see cuff them inside to the length you want them to hang. Then use some straight pins to hold the cuffs in place..(do I have to say BE CAREFUL taking your pants off?!?) Then turn your pants inside out. Make sure your cuffs are straight AND even with each other. Straight pin all the way around the cuffs. You can then stitch them up and remove the pins as you go around, just make sure that you keep the stitches about the same size AND the same distance from the edge of the pants. (Use the straight pins as your guide.) I just got finished hemming up my boys' karate pants.

I'm in the same boat! Because you're petite like me (5'3", 115-120 lbs.), I'd try places like J.Crew or Ann Taylor if you have the dough. They have phenomenal petite-sized pants ideal for work. If you're looking to not spend so much money, try Sears, JC Penney, or Kohl's (the Daisy Fuentes line is pretty decent).
