Need to have ways to prove that the money is being used for the child and not for personal use of the parent child is with. Parent keeps asking for more money.
What are the rights of the parent that is paying child support?

The custodial parent does not have to prove how/why the money is being spent. You are not obligated to give the custodial parent any more money than ordered; if you want to, I suggest that you find out exactly what it's neded for. CLothes, school activities? Pay it YOURSELF if you want to help with those things. Under the law, the CP has no obligation to prove how the money is being spent. In the eyes of the law, that parent is providing support out of his/her money, too, and child support can be spent however the CP sees fit.

IF YOU HAVE A COURT ORDER THEN YOU NEED PAY ONLY WHAT THE ORDER SAYS. NOT A DIME MORE. WHY ARE YOU PAYING ABOVE THE ORDER ? IF THE RECEIVING PARENT IS COMPLAINING ABOUT MONEY TELL THEM TO GET A JOB. YOU ONLY PAY WHAT THE COURT ORDERS. THE OTHER PARENT WILL ALWAYS COMPLAIN THAT THEY NEED MORE MONEY IT'S THEIR SICK WAY OF HANGING ON AND HAVING AN EXCUSE TO PESTER YOUR LIFE. KEEP UP YOUR VISITATION AND PAY ONLY WHAT IS ORDERED SOON THE CHILD WILL BE OLD ENOUGH TO SAY IN COURT WHAT AND WHERE THEY RATHER BE. YOU HAVE PLENTY OF RIGHTS AS A NON-CUSTODIAL PARENT. MAKE SURE THAT EVERY THING IS DONE THROUGH COURT AND MAKE SURE YOU HOLD UP YOUR END OF ANY DEALS THAT ARE MADE THROUGH COURT ONLY. NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY YOU GIVE IT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH TO SATISFY THE OTHER PERSON THEY ARE USUALLY ANGRY AND ALL THEY WANT IS TO HURT THE OTHER SIDE. SAD BUT TRUE. IT'S A VICIOUS CYCLE THAT WILL CONTINUE IF YOU LET IT.

Do you expect the custodial parent to keep receipts for food, clothing, schools expenses, etc? That seems very petty. If you consider the amount of money a person pays in child support, it rarely or ever is as much as half the real costs of raising a child. The custodial parent cares for and provides for every need of the child. That parent's contribution is more than half of what it costs even if the only consideration is money. If you consider the value of love, attention, time, care in times of sickness, laundry, driving, preparation of meals, helping with homework and all the other intangibles, there is no comparison. The parent who simply writes a check should sit down and consider what the other parent contributes. He or she is getting good value for money.

Is the child clothed? roof over his/her head? Eating? Getting an education?
Cost of living goes up and children get more expensive as the grow and need more expensive clothing and participate in more expensive activities.
Why the hell is it that the parent paying child support acts like they deserve an itemized receipt as to where the money "goes"?
I have 4 kids - and I make damn good money and I couldn't tell you where it all goes - neither could my husband. Kids are expensive - you weren't asking for a receipt during the conception - time to deal with raising the child.

The parent receiving the money doesn't have to prove where it's spent. Period. The only things that really matter are income and time shared with the child. No Judge anywere will listen to this excuse for not paying your fair amount. Child support is a b**** for sure, but t's a good lesson for alot of men to learn.

Basically it is dificult to prove that the money is not actually being spent on the child/children.

But you would be entitled to see receipts for such things as groceries, doctor & hospital bills, clothing, and educational expenses.

It costs a heck of a lot to raise a child these days and while it may seem that the spouse who has custody of the kids is not actually spending all of it on them - they just may be doing that due to the expensive nature of trying to raise kids nowadays.

ASK FOR RECEIPTS...........ARE YOU GIVING CASH? IF SO STOP AND BUY WHATEVER IT IS THE CHILD NEEDS YOURSELF, BUT KEEP IN MIND THE PERSON WHO PAYS CHILD SUPPORT IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR A PORTION OF THE BILLS INCLUDING RENT, SO IT IS KIND OF HARD TO PROVE WHETHER OR NOT THE MONEY IS GOING FOR PERSONAL USE CAUSE IF SHE/HE IS PAYING THEIR BILLS ON TIME THEN BASICALLY THE COURT CAN SAY THATS WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING.....IF IT'S COURT ORDER AND IT'S COMING OUT OF YOUR CHECK THEN I WOULD SAY TAKE HER TO FAMILY COURT AND GO FROM THERE........AS A PARENT YOU HAVE RIGHTS NO MATTER WHAT UNTIL THE COURT REVOKES YOU OF THAT.... UNTIL THEN IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS SPEAK UP ON THEM...........
AND FOR THE FEW RESPONSES THAT SAY YOU DON'T DESERVE TO SEE RECEIPTS THATS BULL SH*T........PEOPLE PLAY A LOT OF GAMES AND DO SPITEFUL SH*T AND THERE ARE THOSE WHO ABUSES THE SYSTEM.........I'M NOT SAYING YOU NEED TO SEE A RECEIPT FOR EVERY DIME SPENT OFCOURSE NOT THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE.........BUT IF YOU FEEL LIKE THAT PERSON CAN'T BE TRUSTED AND YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING.......TALK TO THEM AND IF THEY ARE UNCOOPERATIVE THEN DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO.

Have you contacted an attorney, Legal Services, the Family Court, or the the agency charged with handling child support?

Does the child have food in its belly, a roof over their head, clothes on their backs, and have their medical taken care of? If so, then your child support is being used for the child.

Well, you'd have to prove it was being misused through a private investigator. The party asking for more support needs to demonstrate why the expenses went up.
Unfortunately, there's probably no other way for you to fight it beyond the courts....they, in the end, will determine what's equitable.
