How many of you would lose weight for your husband? My husband would actually like me to gain some weight (I've lost about 25 pounds since we met). Please let me say he doesn't say anything mean about my appearance or anything like that. This is just a rhetorical question. How many of you would gain weight for your husband?

Take it from a guy. Don't be stupid enough to get boob jobs, face lifts, nose jobs, liposuction or ANY of that insane cosmetic surgery unless there's a medical reason. Don't try and please a man like that.

Regarding weight, there's only medical reasons that should be considered NOT vanity. If a woman is too thin or too heavy, your dealing with a potential medical problem.

If you are undewrweight and it affects your health, then I would do it for health reasons and I would think maybe that could be a reason for his request.
I had the same thing happen with myself and my hubby. He thought I was too thin. I am 5' 9" and 127 lb. That is a bit under what my target weight should be. (and he was worried about my health) The only time I could gain weight was the 2 times I was pregnant. Both times I was prego I went all the way up to 180 and fast too. But after delivering both of my children the weight fell right back off. I just delivered my baby this past July and I weighed 182 the day I gave birth. It has only been 6 mos and I am all ready 127 and in a size 4. Some peoples bodys just keep their weight down with no work at all. I did not work out to get rid of baby weight because both times I was pregnant I wanted to try to keep some of the weight and stay at 135 to 140 instead of going back down to my size 2-4.
At one time we had gone to the dr to see what I could do to try and gain weight. I was taking weight gainer and taking medicine to make me eat more. It didn't matter though. Some people are just built to be thin. You should gain if you are not healthy but if you are healthy then love the body you were given.

If I was underweight - I would gain for my health, my husband and my kids. Other than that, I can't really say, I highly doubt I'd ever be so thin that my hubby would want me to gain weight!

I have lost weight for my husband. Not because he said anything or asked, but because being thinner makes me feel better about myself and when I'm happy, our lives our better, I'm more into sex and I am just generally in a better mood.

Yes, I would. Men love to show off their woman and if you're beautiful- you have it made. I am 5 months pregnant right now (baby due May 8th) and I already scheduled to have my breasts lifted and a tummy tuck for November 07. I am 5'5, 110 pounds very well portioned and will stay like this for life. Men are visual creatures. Don't loose a good man by letting yourself go.

I wouldn't. My body image is not about pleasing him, it's about how it makes me feel. I've gained about 50 lbs (and 2 children 15 mos apart) since my hubby and I met and I've lost 25 of it in the last yr. If my hubby said anything to me about it, I would take offense that he didn't love me for me, but my sex appeal, or lack thereof. And as an added note, my hubby has gained about as much, and he has not lost one iota of it, and I would never tell him to lose it, c/ I love him for him!

I'm too thin, myself, and I would definitely prefer to be at my optimum weight and gain about 12lbs. But I can't seem to make it happen.
Changing my body would depend on what I needed to change. And that change would have to be because I wanted the change--not him. My man loves my body the way it is, adores it, but I am the one who wants to add some pounds. He doesn't care one way or another.

One thing I have learned the hard way is to be happy with yourself. If who you are with doesn't like it, then send their A$$ somewhere else. I will never lose or gain weight for anyone other than myself.

I think a married person should try to make themselves look good for the other spouse. I can't stand to see a man let himself go after the wedding. I have heard friends say " I not trying to impress anyone now". I am happy that my husband is still trying to impress me!

I am the husband, but if the role was reversed, I would do it, for the right reasons though. He want's you to gain wieght, maybe your actually underweight. This is unhealthy, same as being overweight.
