i 'm not looking for a virtual lover or a sex partner on the net when i can get that real stuff outside the net, but a person you can exchange ideas, cultural beliefs, have a nice time talking too,get advice etc.

Because people on the internet can be whoever they want to be they can say things they wouldn't in real life and lose their inhibitions, they can pretend to be anything for whatever reason. The best way to meet people is always going to be in the flesh. Think about it, have you ever met someone and they haven't turned out to be what you thought? How much easier is it to do that on the net. If you are looking for people to chat to on the net, I would suggest instead of going to chat rooms or large discussion groups why not pick smaller groups with specific interests that are likely to be like-minded people. Or ask people you know if they have found any good forums, etc.

It is difficult, i know. For every one decent person there are a thousand nut cases and time wasters. Just persever i think, the right person will come along eventually. Like they say, Rome was not built in a day. These things cannot be rushed, a good friendship takes time and trust.

Most weird people on the internet are trying to pretend to be somebody and they can express their deepest desires and wants without fear of humiliation or rejection in person the can simply turn off the computer. I think the internet should be more centred around it being a meeting of minds, sharing of thoughts and passions between people who would otherwise be endless distances apart, but are just a click away.

because people on the net can lie make out they are something they're not. bum themself up if you like. you cant see the person unless you are talking through web cam. the best way to meet someone is in person.
