CD-R could be pronounced CD minus R or CD dash R or CD R but I need to know how it is pronounced in English.

It's just See D R. The dash is only used for dvds that use either + or -.

See dee aaarrrgh (the latter especially if it didn't burn properly).

The "dash" is only important for DVDs, where DVD+R and DVD-R are very different things. There's no "CD+R", so no "dash" is pronounced in CD-R.

As I know, it is pronounced as CD R (si-di-ar). This is an acronym for Compact Disc - Recordable.
