I work in the fashion industry and we've recently set up a business that offers bargain price ladies fashion accessories. We think that there is a niche market in the transgender community that we could exploit.

First are there any popular magazines out there that are aimed at male to female transgender people where we could advertise?

Also, how do you feel about buying ladies clothes and accessories in shops? What are the problems, if any? Would you prefer to do it online?

Any thoughts would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

there are lot of magazines around for the TV market but must have a low circulation. Forum Northern & Shell Tower, PO Box 381 City Harbour London E14 9GL may be worth a try. They are not specific to the TV community but they have a big circulation. You could also try contacting Peter Farrar Of Karn Publications, 63, Salisbury Road. Garston Liverpool L19 0PH. He has written several books on cross dressing and may have some ideas on the potential market. Personally I will buy womens clothes from shops and off the net and I have bought stuff in shops and tried it on in the shop but I dont ccare who sees me.

My most exhilarating experience was to buy my first female outfit so take it from me, once a tg has tasted the joy of shopping, she isn't going back to mail order. However, there are going to be a lot of closet tg's who would and Repartee is as good a place as any to target your niche clientele.
