There is a fab rose called Black Baccarat. It is really dark burgundy but looks like a velvet black. We use it in bridal bouquets quite a lot as it holds up well. It is available to order all year round.

I think the closest you would get would be a very deep red. Black roses in a bridal bouquet. Sorry, but that does not sound appropriate to me.
GEMMA_LOU, please note: Sometimes I type before thinking it out. I did not mean in the slightest way to offend. My son and his lady just had a very traditional wedding with burgandy and white roses in the bouquets. I just couldn't imagine the roses being black. In a Goth wedding, yes, I can understand that black roses would fit right in. I am sorry if I offended you. Have a lovely wedding. (e-mail would not go thru as you address is not verified - says Yahoo)

I'm sure there is a strain of roses that are black. Check with a nursery or a place that specializes in flowers. A friend of mine grows roses and she has several different kinds. If they don't come in black, I'm sure they could be dyed like they dye carnations.

Black roses are actually a very dark red. You can get a black flower - one called bat wings, one that is a tulip, etc., just search the net. Black roses are considered very passionate though and are a luxurious red. Try it. They are beautiful.

Pretty sure you can dilute black food colouring with water and you leave white roses soaking in it you will achieve the desired effect. Could be worth a try.

Hmm... not sure about natural ones. :P
But I remember way back when I was about 8 years old, we did an experiment with white carnations. We put food colouring in the water the flowers were in, and it turned the petals that colour.
Perhaps it would work with white roses and black food colouring?
:-)

They don't exist naturally source (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Rose_(symbolism) ) but; many florists will dye white roses to match any color you'd like. Its funny that she picked them for her wedding boquet seeing as they symbolize death and hatred. They can be pretty though.
