Considering that the current generation of Geforce is not the 7000 series, I would suggest as a bare minimum the 6600 (which I have one of in my PC). The 8000 series just started to come out too, you don't have to pay lots of money and be on the bleeding edge but if you wait a while longer, some of the better 7000 series cards will go down. Just DON'T get an LE version... they are riddled with problems!

6600 is best of the three. Be sure to have an adequate power supply if you are buying a high-preformance card.

Get a 6800 or higher.
My 7900GTX & 8800GTX work great.
