I've been doing this for years - a little Pledge on a very soft cloth and used gently. It also works on plastic eyeglass lenses. It does not leave a film and makes your screen anti-static for a time.
P.S.I'm a telecom tech and I have used Pledge on plastic screens for over 10 years with no discoloration, staining, or damage.

I've researched this quite a bit, before cleaning my own LCD screens.
You can go and buy special solution for it at the store OR you can save yourself a few bucks and mix 1 part water and 1 part Rubbing Alcohol in a spray bottle. Use a lint free cloth if possible (not paper towels, because believe it or not, it can scratch your screen). Spray your mixed solution on the cloth (not directly on the screen), then wipe your screen in a downward motion (not circles). You can dry your screen with another lint free cloth. That should do the trick.
DON'T USE PLEDGE or windex or anything else that has strong chemicals in it. You could very well end up damaging your screen or even turning it a different color.
Good Luck : )

Very Gently. Use a wipe that can be dried easily.
Cheap end is to get baby bottom wipes ( Like towelettes, just cheaper), then dry with a swiffer cloth.
More expensive is get an alcohol, or quick drying cloth item, so you can wipe "dirty" areas. The Evaporative element ( alcohol or similar) will mean just one wipe, no dry. You can use a Walmart Glass wipe type thing, or if you have to use a wipe, do it gently, and this should get the dregs after the spritz.

Use a microfiber cloth ... like those sold for eyeglasses.
Spray some eyeglass cleaner directly on the cloth ... never onto the LCD.
Best method is to have 2 cloths ... one to apply wet & one for drying & removing streaks.
I've been doing it like this for years & my LCDs remain spotless & undamaged.

Dust is impossible to avoid so clean it daily with a slightly damp rag, and never leave fingerprints on the screen (harder to clean due to natual oils on skin). When not in use, I usually throw a t-shirt over mine (or make your own cover) in an attempt to keep it dust-free.

Spit and nice old cotton t shirt. Those 18 dollar sprays are a rip-off. Don't rub too hard on the screen though.
