As you slowly pull the wand out of the tube you should hear a small 'pop' and this means that your mascara is healthy. When the 'pop' no longer occurs then you should replace the mascara as too much air is in it and therefore bacteria which can hurt your eyes. It usually takes about 3 months for a replacement to be needed if treated well.

every 3 months. for many reasons...
If your mascara contains alcohol it will cause the mascara to dry out over a period of time. (arbonne makes one that doesnt. it also will not dry out or irritate the eyelids!)
Also, repeated use reintroduces bacteria from the lashes into the tube and back to the eyes over and over. If bacteria has enough time to grow in the tube, eventually you could conceivable get an eye infection or serious irritation. Eyelashes are there to trap dust and bacteria from getting INTO the eyes. replacing the mascara on a regular basis helps eliminate this.

Definitely every couple of months even if it's not out yet. I can usually go by the smell though - if you notice mascara starts to smell a little funny after a couple of months, and I chalk that up to the bacteria?

i purchase too plenty mascara to ought to change mine the time-honored 'each 3 months'...i rotate mine, i'm going to apply a distinctive one each and on a daily basis, just to make beneficial i'm getting my money out of it... i purchase a mascara tube consistent with danger as quickly as a month, no longer unavoidably the comparable one each month, i'm constantly attempting new ones...i say in the event that they're tightly closed, stored in sturdy circumstances, and not watered down or dried up, then it quite is alright to maintain them. i in basic terms throw them out while a) i've got finished the tube. or b) while there's a metamorphosis in colour, consistency, or scent... in any different case, i could say that they are risk-free. so mine never get formally 'replaced'...i in basic terms use what's there and run out and %. up a very distinctive tube of mascara while i've got faith like it.

If you hear a pop when you take the wand out of the tube this means the mascara needs relacing. Same goes for lip gloss.

They recommend every 2 1/2 to 3 months, normally by that time, if you use it every day, it is not as effective anyhow. Primarily, they recommend it so that you do not acquire any eye irritation, and NEVER share your makeup!!!

In my experience, you should replace it UP to every three months simply for sanitary reasons...however, I always do it before that if it gets clumpy or nasty. Usually about every month and a half to two months...
