Hi there,

Would you be able to provide the name of the .EXE, then I will be able to provide more valuable information.

There are many malware infections doing the rounds lately which disable your access to things like the Registry and Task Manager in order to make it difficult to locate the source of the infection and avoid being deleted.

I would recommend you try the free trial of Prevx1. This will not only scan your computer and remove any infections it finds free of charge, but also has an option under "advanced" for you to "Restore Settings". This can reset any hi-jacked homepages, as well as re-enabling your Task Manager and Registry editor.

I am still researching how to remove it. DO NOT REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER. It appears so far that if you do you will not be able to reboot. It changes important files so windows will not run.

Edit: Is EXE the only name for the virus? Could there be any more information.?

Edit: I see Secure Expert has joined in the thread. I feel he can better help you so I will let him help you.
