Our niece was sterilised a few years ago and had a hard time with her parents and her GP but as we can see she has no regrets and having a great life.
Also what a world to bring up children.

I think you are being a bit hasty. You never know what is going to happen. You may in 6 months, 1 year etc change your mind. You may meet somone and decide you do want children. I always said I would never have or want children. I had decided that I would be sterilised as soon as I hit 30. At 28 I became pregnant. (It wasn't planned) I am now mum to a 15 month old little boy and I wouldn't change it. There really is no need to rush into it.

I was having an affair with a married woman who got sterilised when she was twenty eight. She regretted it when she met my good self because she would never be able to give me kids so we ended splitting up after three years of a mentally painful relationship which I still feel scarred by.
You never know whats round the corner or how your thoughts will change when you meet someone you love and will do anything for.

I have not regretted it because it's so nice not to worry about birth control, planning, etc. However, I have 2 kids and I was older than you when I had my tubal done. It's possible that you may have trouble finding a doctor that will do it for you since you're still young and have no children. Good luck to you.

Make sure to get at least 6 months of counseling about it before doing it, because that's one of the things that women who don't regret it have in common.
If you're absolutely sure, your biggest problem will be finding someone to do the surgery without being predjudiced against your age. I'm in my 20's and can't find someone to do it yet, even though I've never wanted kids and have a reproductive disorder that would make it a bad idea to have kids.
Try going to a planned parenthood clinic; they usually give you information about tubal ligation without being biased or turning you down because of age.

I'd wait if I was you. I have four kids and had a tubal ligation at 30yrs old. I'm 39, about to remarry, and I often wish my fiance and I could have a child together. He's younger and had looked forward to having more children but he has now had to accept that he will not have anymore and the closest we'll ever get now is grandchildren.

Don't do anything hasty. I have a number of friends who ALWAYS said they'd never have kids. Then they got to their mid or late 30s and all of a sudden they were desperate to get pregnant.
Be careful about making irreversible decisions. You don;t know how you'll feel or who you'll be with in 5 or 10 years time.

i think it would be stupid to do that! you need to have options, you are still young and may decide that you want kids, also if your single why do you need to be sterilised??? it seems pointless to me.

never say never. if you are not in a relationship right now, leave it alone and if you are -no one knows what the next day will bring. you're still young. if you are worried even a little about regrets, don't do it.

if you find someone, you might regret this decision..... a female has bigger risks after 40 to bear children, if you still feel this way when you get to that age, then maybe I would proceed
