He was no doubt guilty of capital crimes. I am not happy that taxpayers are billed about $40,000 per year to keep a man behind bars, so I have less difficulty with execution for capital crimes. The bad part was that Bush and Blair, who started a war in which hundreds of thousands of people were killed were
the figureheads of the powers that arranged for Hussein's execution. (and Saddam was hanged for ordering the death of 140 people who very probably were plotting against him--And Bush still hasn't answered for locking up hundreds that probably were not plotting against him)

He deserved what he got. The man was responsible for thousands of deaths of innocent people. He took the money that was intended for health and education for his people and built mansions with gold toilets for himself. He was an evil man and I was so glad to see him hang.!!!!!!!!!!!! He actually deserved to be tortured just like he did to others but I'll take the hanging over him sitting in a clean prison cell any day!

Are you questioning whether he deserved the death penalty (YES, in my opinion), or whether they should have used another method to execute him (NO, in my opinion).
I could have done without the taunting by the observers. But then again have you ever seen these people when they weren't jumping around in a hyper-excited state, fists in the air, chanting about something?
It appears to be the Arab culture's way of expressing their feelings...loudly and passionately.
Saying "to hell" to a maniac who had opponents tortured and put to death (sometimes in a wood chipper) and then springing the trap door for a death that takes 1/2 second seems OK to me.

I think he should have died, but not by hanging. That seemed extremely old school for them to hang him. Maybe a firing squad, electric chair, or a needle maybe. But the hanging wouldn't have been my choice of death for him.
Death sentence does not go against the word of God. Many people in the old testament were stoned or killed by God for their actions. Although, that was the old testament and they weren't covered by the blood I still agree with capital punishment in certain cases.

I am not a supporter of capital punishment. But I also won't second guess the Iraqi judicial system. He killed tens of thousands of people and they needed to see justice served.

I think that he should never have been taken prisoner. My opinion is that he should have been wasted in the hole he was hiding in and the hole filled making it his grave. Nothing should have been said and he could have not been a martyr for any cause.

it wasn't for us to decide. he was turned over to the Iraqis and that's what they decided to do with him.
personally, i thought they should lock him up in a small cell, only feed him BLT sandwiches and blare loud american pop music for the rest of his life. perhaps something from the britney spears greatest collection. oops i did it again... la la la la.

he killed, maimed, raped and tortured hundreds of thousands of ppl...his actions are what got him hung. the iraqi ppl and government tried, convicted, sentenced and hung him according to their law. they wanted justice for all those men, women and children that he brutalized and they got it and saddam got what he deserved. sometimes karma is a *****.

He should have been put in a blender, along with Bush, Blair, Berlusconi, Castro, Chavez, Kim Jong Il, and Donny Rumsfeld.
And the man in the white robe should ask "will it blend?" and press HI-POWER.
