Yes - for people like Dick Durbin and Ted Kennedy to slander our troops and call them torturers and Nazis, and have the American people reward them with control of both houses of Congress, I'd say something is VERY wrong.

Agree. How can you claim everything is perfect and "stay the course" when you have a nation strongly divided upon partisan lines.
The education systems is pumping out undereducated children at an alarming rate who although may be employable may not have a chance since a lot of jobs are being out sourced to "cut costs". So these people rely upon an ever dwindling social safety net that we really can't afford with our national debt increasing by 1.5 billion dollars daily.

Infrastructures are crumbling so for the past 30 years natural disasters have been crisis, we could call on the national guard but they are generally occupied elsewhere, but certainly not stopping drug smugglers and illegals from draining what little social safety net we have, we leave that up to a bunch of Texans with too much time and a really big guns.

Impartial. Look around the world right now. Look at Darfur, Somalia, Colombia, Venezuela, Iran, the Koreas. We definitely are not the glowing example we could be, and we have plenty of our own issues. Considering the wars we get involved in, the supposed "immigration" problem we have, and the occasional psycho gunman who shoots a classmate...I'd say we're still doing pretty well. It's not desperate yet, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

I disagree. I think diversity and difference of opinion is healthy, and there have been times in the past when America was much more divided than now. In the immortal words of Charlie Daniels.."We might have done a little bit of fighting amongst ourselves, but you outside people best leave us along."

'desperately'...no. ppl have been saying the exact same thing for decades, the generation that is living in the present always thinks things are worst for them. there is a lot of good and a lot of things going right for america, its just that on the news we keep getting all the bad because thats what sells and ups the ratings. try seeking out the good and the good ppl...its out there. like the two guys who saved that toddler who feel 4 stories to a certain death...start there.

And it can all be traced back to Lack of Personal Responsibility.

In this country the left wing AND the right wing have both turned to the government as the ultimate source of solving problems...we have stopped relying upon ourselves to do it.

Left wing promotes welfare instead of supporting yourself.

Right wing fights for government legislation of marriage instead of letting people be free to live their own lives.

Left Wing and Right Wing both fight to SAVE Government Social Security instead of making people responsible for their own.

Government grows...it doesn't matter if the Republicans/Conservatives are in charge...or the Democrats/Liberals. And when government grows, individual freedom shrinks.

But what is even worse is that the majority of Americans WANT government to grow....because that takes the burden off of them to be responsible for their own lives.
