I would like to see one because why is every thing just about women? Would any of you out here want to see a section called men's studies? Explain your answer as to why you think it would be relevant to have men's studies.

I also think that men seem to be left out in the cold which is not right. That way they can ask questions that pertain to their group.

I recon it's because it's the men that don't understand women, so there are more questions in that direction :)
I agree it's not fair, it also would be interesting for us (men) to read about women's studies on men.

Because if there were, it would be assumed to mean homosexual men only, or almost exclusively. No, we cannot make equal, parallel everything all through life. Men and women are too different for that.

Also, the women's studies might more accurately be termed feminist studies, because that assumption is at the heart of the creation of the category, from way back when it was pushed through as a field in academia in the 1970s. It has always been political in nature, from its inception.

It's the same reason there is no such thing as white history month. Popular culture has chosen to give "minorities" and women their own sections so that they may feel like they're equal to WASPs. Which of course creates more inequality, especially since each group has its own issues that need to be discussed. Men's studies would probably be the most interesting since all other groups who have their own "studies" are basically social comparisons, and this comparison is being done in relation to men who don't have their own section for men's studies. It seems inadequate to study one portion of the population in relation to another without studying the other.

You should contact yahoo as ask them to put one in. Maybe then they would keep out of the women issues section. It would also be interresting to see what their worries are, and what the f... goes on in their minds. So yes I am for it.

There is a section called men's studies: it is also called sociology, history, political science, psychology, economics, art history, etc.

The "woman's studies" section is but one of many other sections in this entire forum. If you don't think women should have just one, single place to talk about their own issues then stop visiting this particular section.

Problem solved!
