I've never understood how people get all upset and surprised when someone they know/love come out. Everybody I've ever know who came out i suspected that they were gay anyway. And then when I treat them the same they alost seem surprised because other people havn't accepted them. This one guy I know, I've know him since he was a little boy. he came out when he was 18 and I heard his mother totally flipped out. I don't believe that she couldn't see that, and I can't believe that shoe would be upset with her baby boy for finally being who he is. Did you have any problems?

Yes, mothers know! they might be in denial but they know.

2 years ago I returned home at easter time. my mom and I were chatting over coffee at a donut house. during the discussion she said something that seemed very strange at the time.

She said "Tony, you are my son and you will always be my son. I have loved you since the day I knew that I was pregnant with you and I will always love you the same. Nothing will ever change that."

I was reflecting on that comment on my drive home and realized what she was telling me.

Trust me mothers do know!

Gobsmacked. When you don't conform to the stereotype some people don't see it. But I'm not exactly your average gay guy anyway. But no-one has said anything bad at all, bit of an anticlimax, getting all built up for nothing. It could have been so much worse.

My mom, like other wacko Christians, got surprised when I turned out bi. Everyone else was fine with it and later I found out that (mainly amongst the girls) most either were sure I was or at least had strong inclinations that I was bi. As for the guys, they weren't surprised but wouldn't particularly have guessed it had I not told them.

I havent comletely come out to my parents, but my sisters know and my friends know, and one aunt, and they all were like, "I kinda knew already." This is mainly because I gave them hints so that it wouldnt be such a surprise. I have been giving my parents hints too, so hopefully they get it before I tell them. I feel you on this though, I dont know what they get so upset, and flip out..

They totally freaked out. I got drunk at a friends party the other night and passed out in their walk-in closet. I crawled out the next day when my buddy's wife came out of the shower. They didn't exactly expect to see me still there and yes...quite suprised.

Yes, quite a few people were surprised. I'm bi, and 50/50, and pretty feminine as far as my appearance and personality are concerned.
