yes. i agree. everyone on the internet anymore is a pervert. i can't even believe it. i used to get on chatrooms all the time just to talk to ppl. i hadn't had yahoo messanger dled for about 4 years, so i thought i would try it again (the other day) just for someone to talk to with no sexual anything intended just small talk or whatever. In the first 5 minutes i had 8 perverts w/ sexual messages to me. so i had to delete it again. is there such a place on the internet where you can just talk to ppl..w/o sex being involved?

What are you getting instead? Some people just don't like to talk to someone only on the internet. And for guys, it almost always turns into them liking someone more than in a friendship way, and on the internet that makes thing really hard, especially because the girls usually don't return the feelings.

Because people hide their true nature on the Internet. Its the best disguise. We look at the avatar and its cute and the person has well written lines describing themselves. People lie about age, weight, sexual preference, being married many more things on Internet. It would be nice to trust peoples bio, but we cant most of the time.

This seems to be the place where people can say the things they'd like to say outside but can't. Here they can be provocative and get all their little prejudices aired and no-one will know who they are. Having said that, if you go onto some subjects you can get real answers. Try Maths or Anthropology. There are some nice people here, although it may not be the Maths whizzes you want to find!

Stop looking for true friends on the internet, go out side and seek the real world.

Have you actually tried to find one? If not, I assure you there plenty like that but you must be clean yourself and have good ideas to exchange before you venture out.

because there are some real sickos and perverts out there who use the internet to be someone they are not, for their own personal satisfaction.

but not everyone is like that.

however, if you really want to find a true friend, i think it would be safer and more "true" if you actually went outside and tried to meet people instead of trying to meet them in chatrooms....

Of course but you have to be very careful on the Internet. Not everyone is who they claim to be and not everyone has your best interests at heart. Sad to say but true. I usually take someone at face value unless they prove to be otherwise.

There must be some good people out there but unfortunately a lot of bad. As you can not see there faces or may never meet them they can be who they want to be and act like fools.
Good luck in your search.

Because, unlike face to face meetings, you have no idea of who is on the other end of the transmission.
Make friends locally; consider net "friends" off limits.
