Well depending on what the closest interstate you have I would recommend going southwest I-71 to I - 64. Go through Memphis and then go on I-40 from there to CA. But be careful even in Feb. there have been known for snow problems. Or go all the way south through Dallas on 69/75 (interstates) and take I -20 to I-10 and follow that through to CA. Good Luck and be safe...

of course, depending on WHERE in California (it's a big state...) I 40 is probably the best southern route, because I-70 through Colorado and Kansas gets really cold, and I-10 is really desolate. I'd think, take it to Nashville and then take I-65 North to Louisville, KY and then I 71 will take you into Cincinatti.
Google maps has a slightly more complicated route where you take the turnpike in OK, which I'll link.
Also, if you're coming from Northern California, I-80 makes a bit more sense, but is also much much colder and snow is more possible. Watch out for I-70 - it's been closed a few times this winter I think from snowfalls, avalanches.... I 80 would probably be a better choice than I-70 just due to elevation.

Interstate 90 should take you the whole way.
