I have a dell c521 vs HP a1650e for around same price. Which would you invest in? The dell has slightly larger harddrive, but hp comes with bigger monitor and free printer.

I would look at the intended use for this machine. In this day and age, if you are looking at using your machine for multimedia options such as mp3s you really need the Dell with the larger HD.

I have a 1 year old Dell that is a piece of junk and has been since it was new. Dell has sent tech support to my home 4 times to change the mother board, hard drive, both cd drives, and modem. It is still a piece of junk.
I have 2 HP's that have never had a problem, other than software.
If the choice was HP or Dell, it would definetly be HP.
I'll never buy another Dell....

HP is non proprietary on that model & a much better deal with unsurpassed customer support (JD Powell review).
Go for HP.

All my computers have been HPs. Most problems I've had were always software related.

They both SUCK !!! get a gateway or a emachines ( made by gateway but cheaper).
otherwise if your stuck with dell Vs Hp i would say get an HP

i wouldn't buy ether of them. id buy a Mac or an IBM simply for the fact there much much faster can be added onto more. and are more relible also come with better tech support
