Mention to this person that you are trying to quit cursing and if he/she notices you saying any to please help you by reminding you. Tell them how rude you feel you are being and how crude and disrespectful you sound. They will then start to think about what they say. It is easier this way so they don't get mad. But it really offends me to hear people curse especially in front of other people. I don't allow it in my home at all! People are so terrible they even try it in front of children! Not mine I will interrupt them and say there is a child in the house no cursing! It works! And women that curse is even worse to lower their self respect! Good Luck!

If your friend's language offends you, you have to let that person know. Most people will curb their cussing if they know it bothers a person. I cuss all the time, but my mother asked me not to cuss around her so I don't. Just speak up!

Let your friend know that this language bothers you. Pick your battles, don't get on their case for every single transgression. But let the person know you don't appreciate that kind of behavior in your presence. Let them know that you like them and want to be their friend. If nothing else the swears should be reduced if not completely eliminated around you.

Start a kitty jar and ask them to agree to donate $1 every time something slips. I saw that on a movie somewhere and I thought it was a cool idea. Sometimes I wish someone would do it to me, or hey. I could start my own kitty jar and donate to a children's hospital. When my friends do that, usually all it takes is a dirty look...most people don't like their friends mad at them.

Let them know straight up that it bothers you, if their offended then they aren't as good as a friend as you thought. A good friend should have respect for something simple as this. I'm sure she'll try for you.
I choose not to be around those who annoy me but I have to give those I like a fair warning. I remain cordial friends.

My friend used to do that, and then one day I just said to him, "Dude, you cuss way too much. Shut up!"
He got it.

Simple.
Tell them what you think about it and that if they're really your friend, they'll respect your ideals by toning it down when you're around them. You're not asking them to change, you're just asking them to have some tact/common courtesy.

Ihave a nephew like this, and I tell him over and over again, I don't appreciate how you talk around me, around my kids, I teach them not to swear, this shows u have no respect for me or my home, until you do, don't bother coming here...
