I have a neighbor that has green beans, tomatoes and peppers growing , not in pots, but in 5 gallons plastic buckets, the kind used for roof coating, paint, driveway sealer etc and you would not believe the yield that he gets. Our soil in Florida is not like I am use to in the north, it is sandy and not as mucky. My neighbor bought potting soil/garden dirt and mixed it with regular soil. I would imagine that strawberries would do well in a bucket with good soil. Remember to stake the plants as they have to grow up and not out when using a bucket, and also water more frequently due to the heat, and keep out of direct sunlight.

Strawberries need a lot of room to grow so pots would be not big enough but in trays or boxes.
