The best solution is to cover it. You can make a cover out of heavy duty screen. At Low's it says "dog Proof" and comes in about 4 ft widths. You will have to glue roles together to make the size you did. It would be light and easy to roll/peal back for use.
Or use a regular pool cover. Or it seems that the old fashion long handle net still works.
If there is a large amount that gathers you may use the same screen. Have too people (on on each side of the pool) drag it the length of the pool. This will gather the leaves at the end and pull them out.

Use a solar cover when not in use during the day especially if it is going to be stormy and windy, also use the solar cover at night when not using it, this will help keep the water warm overnight.

is it your tree? if so, i would have it cut down. if its not your tree, then get a cover for it, they have ones that are solar and you cover it yourself, and then they have these ones that are electric, and you just cover it at a push of a button, it have two benefits, keeps things out and warms it up.
