The mother has full custody and he gets to claim one child per year on his taxes plus he gets 50% back for the time he has them 6 or more nights. Just curious what your opinions are.

My husband has one daughter that he pays child support on. He makes 1000 per month and he pays 100 per week he don't get to claim here and never ever gets money back. so i would say that whoever you are talking about is getting one sweet deal

Well, lets just say I couldn't afford that. A lot of moms who are working when they have 2 kids probably means they need money, otherwise they wouldn't be working. Lets just say someone is working for 15$ an hour and needs a babysitter 8 hours a day 5 days a week. They'd be making $600 a week (not including taxes taken out, insurance etc), minus the $200 for childcare and gas to and from the babysitters and to work and back, that doesn't leave much left over, and ultimately not really worth even getting a job. Maybe see if you can work something out with her. Maybe she has some service that could be valuable to you as a trade for what she can't afford. Good luck :)

In the state of Wisconsin he would be paying $300 a week! SO $200 is not too much. If it is working out then leave it.

No I don't think that is too much. Just curious why he gets to claim one child on the taxes? You must have agreed to that? I would never have agreed to that one! It is easier to see what CS should look like when you have your state guidelines in front of you and are looking at the child support worksheet.

No not at all. In Mississippi i believe it is 20 or 25% of his gross salary for 2 kids. I'm not sure if all states are the same.

Its up to the courts to decide child support, not the individual. What we may say or think has absolutely no baring on the matter.

In Texas it would be $240 a month.

No that's not too much. It's much lower than state guideline.
