To clarify, I normally shave with a razor and shaving cream.

I have recently started using an electric razor, but both methods seem to burn me.

After I shave I use to after shave, then I realized that after shave has rubbing alcohol in it and I didn't care for the fragrance. Now I use rubbing alcohol,it'll sting for a few seconds but it works really well and your closing your pores has well as killing the bacteria.Rubbing alcohol works words for every thing.

Use one of the new 5 bladed razors and gel shaving foam. Only shave "with" the direction of hair growth. Never shave against the grain or against the direction of hair growth. Use a new blade in the razor every week. Always wash and rinse your face with warm soapy water prior to shaving. Never use an alcohol based aftershave, only oil based.

Try a different shave cream if you use a razor. I shave with an electric razor using baby powder to lubricate the skin and it works really well.

1) when you shave, draw the blade down & not up.
2) don't go over an area once it's already shaved. Otherwise, you're taking skin off & not hair.
3) after rinsing your face, apply some men's face lotion. Neutrogena makes some good products.

use shavin' cream dude...it contains menthol that have a cooling sensation when you rinse it...apply aloe vera gel to soothes the irritation...look for shaving cream or gel that contains camomile oil that san reduce the reddening effect of your skin...

here is tips for shaving....
1. do it slowly and do not press to mush onto your skin to get a close shave...shave to close will cause your skin an abrasion
2. apply a warm towel onto your face to smotthen the hair a lil'
3. apply shaving cream / gel or you can simply use your facial foam...aloe gel works best...it heals your cuts quickly and will not cause your skin a dryness (a clear effect after you shave).
4 never shave in a hurry...you'll cut and scarred yourself
5 take time do it gently....

use a shaving gel like gillette, not a shaving cream!! makes a big difference, when you lather it up let it sit on your face for a min or so that will soften everything up and makes for a gentle shave
