having a bank account has nothing to do with your bankruptcy. It should not prevent you from opening an account anywhere. If you are having problems with opening a checking account, it is probably due to a Check Systems report. The bank should have told you that.

Check Systems is a company that pretty much is a credit report for your bank accounts. The only time that you have a reporting with them is if you have had an account closed out on you in the past for bouncing too many checks, overdrafts, account abuse, or charge off. Where most banks do a credit check, it is more for verification purposes rather than to allow you to open an account. The only time that your bankruptcy comes into play is if you are applying for a loan. On a far stretch, the person opening the account may use that as an excuse if something else on check systems doesn't look right.

Most of the major banks offer a basic bank account that allows wages to be paid into and (some) allow direct debits and standing orders too. They usually have an Electron card or a simple cash card but no cheque book or overdraft. If the account is held in credit for a while then there is a good chance that they will offer to upgrade the account to a 'proper' current account will full facilities. As for the Capital One credit card - pretty much anyone can get one as long as they are on the Electroral Register.

My partner had bad credit and the only bank to accept him was a Nationwide, the building society. However after having that account he's just applied for a simple Natwest Solo account and got that, so there are banks that will let you have an account.

Why don't you try Money-Mart, or President-choice Fortinos Groceries like C.I.B.C.Bank or Post- Office. Money-Mart you might have a chance. Temperory you can join with somebody'strustworthy bank account or investigate from private association. You got to get a affedavite letter like Legal temperory letter or show your proof that caught fire. If you can go the last School and get your Documents, Christians could apply Baptisem or somebody has influence about you. I wish you luck.

You may find it dificult, as banks tend to do credit checks even when opening an account, you probably will get refused one. Unless you can talk to the bank and come to an agreement that the account you have has no overdraft facilities, no cheque guarantee card or cheque book. Your only access is only to money credit in that account.

legally you can get a bank account, you just cant have credit (ie overdraft) however that is a simple version becasue you can, you just have to tell them you are bankrupt, but all of that is irrelevant because most banks wont give you one anyway.

the nationwide flex-account comes with just a cash point card, but allows you to have standing orders and direct debits just like a normal bank account. just no cheque book or devit card. they gave me one 11 days after i was declared bankrupt, so try them.

As long as you have cash or check to deposit you can open a checking or savings account at any bank. They don't check your credit history. They will put a hold on the money until the check you deposit clears.
