Jealousy is an emotion that is the result of a stimulation. Same as anger, joy, sadness.
Jealousy shows a "want" or a "need" not being met. Address it for what it is...and it looses power over you.
Example: My need to feel/be ________ was not met. So, I felt jealous.

Jealousy is kind of like an extension of anger. Love, the real unconditional love, can not exist in the same heart with jealousy. One will cancel out the other, and Love is usually the loser. In fact, to love unconditionally means that there can be no jealousy at all, but complete understanding and honesty, and trust, above all, are great over-riders of envy.
Great question!
Have a wonderful day!

Jealousy its the hardest thing to break if you have insecurities, low self esteem or mental problems. I have seen people become consumed with jealousy ....I had a relative who was very pretty but she just had this jealous monster that would take over when she was with someone. I witnessed EXTREME JEALOUSY one time she caught one of her boyfriends who she had been going out with for 6 months looking at another girl she grabbed him by the hair and kept asking him "Were you looking at her?!!!" They lasted another 3 months but I see your point on jealousy how do we overcome it ....therapy.
