I swear by Nelsons Teetha Teething Granules, as soon as I pour into my sons mouth he calms down and is happy again. They last for a long time too. He now recognises the pack and comes to me when I get them out, so they must work for him. They are also all natural ingredients, so you can also use Calpol.
I would really not recommend using any form of alcohol on your baby.

Well, here are a few remedies that worked wonders for my children here.
1. Hyland's homeopathic Teething Tablets. They are at most drugstores & they disolve quickly. They are all natural & work wonders. Here is the # off the bottle I have here 1-800-624-9659 or you could just look up & see if they have a site for stores near you that carry it.
2. I also use to seep Decaffinated Chamomile tea, in 8 oz. of boiling water for 1 minute (only). Then add a 1/2 tsp. of sugar in it. Shake it up good. Then devide into 2, bottles. 4 oz. each, add water to dillute it some. And let the child have it, when really cranky.
3. Take a rubber coated spoon and chill in the fridge, rub them on gums firmly. When the gums are rubbed firmly it releases the body's natural endorphins & numbs the area for a while. That also helps the teeth come in a bit more quickly as you are putting pressure on the teeth & gums & helping them push through.
Hope one of these ideas help.

If the teething is too bad try giving some Tylenol this may help with the pain and sometimes fever, like my son. Try a cold wash cloth or teething rings, put in freezer for a few minutes. Also i gave my son the teething biscuits they make a mess but it helped him a lot. Numbing medicines that you rub on the gum make drooling worse but if it helps use it. Keeping something cold on hand that she can chew on is the only thing that may help.
One more thing that you can try is buying one of those mesh bags with the handle, not sure what their called, but they sell them at Babies R Us. You but a piece of cold fruit in them and let the baby chew on it, this way she want choke and it should really help the gums. Try that!!

When youre broke like me, you dont spend money on tablets and junk. I would NEVER give my baby whiskey, no matter what people think. There are many different numbing agents you can use other than whiskey- Oragel works well, try it on yourself and see how numb your mouth gets.
My daughter liked frozen hotdogs the best. We also froze bananas and gave them to her. Dont worry about cold fingers, they'll get used to the coldness, and if they drop it, its okay too, cause it takes their attention off their teeth and puts it on picking it back up. Distraction works well, so does a cold washcloth. I also used to let her chew a new toothbrush, it was fun for her. Some teethers you can buy have a vibrating thing in them , thats cool too for em. Fridge it first
p.s. I never thought of cucumbers! What a good idea!

There is also an all natural orajel that's pretty good, but last for like 5 minutes..
Teething is painful so maybe give the baby baby motrin

Nature always has a little something up her sleeve.
Try a cucumber!
Strip back the outer peel and let the young 'un chomp on it.
Make sure it's fairly cold but not from the fridge (that's a bit of a shock for them!)
It worked a treat for all 4 of my nippers!

Sounds crazy, but I let all 3 of my kids chew on a toothbrush dampened with cold water. It worked like a dream. My pediatrician said that teething gums are painful and itchy, and I just figured it would help with the "itchy" part.

Look for a rubber teething ring. It container a liquid like that in cool box blocks. Place it in the freezer till frozen then let the child bite-chew-gnaw on it, what ever! It does help but it doesn't cure. I am 62 I tried it with my kids and grand kids. It will help. Other than that try Martell brandy! (For you not the child).

You can get a gel teething ring that you put in fridge/freezer. The cold soothes the gums really well & saves your babe taking medication. Hope it helps

I gave my babies a wet washcloth to bite on. Put one in a zip top bag in the freezer. As soon as you use it, replace it with a clean one, so there is always one ready.
Ice chips are good to give also. At night, I gave baby motrin so they could sleep.
