I've always been interested in selling real estate, but have been apprehensive because of the lack of benefits. Foxtons advertises a $35,000 base salary, company car, cell phone, laptop, and leads. I understand that if they offer this, then the commission end would more than likely be less than a traditional real estate agent. If you work for them, how long have you been in real estate, and how long have you been with them? What is realistic first year income for someone with solid sales skills? If you don't have your real estate license, will they allow you to work while you get it? I have worked my whole life in a commission environment, but have always been given a base salary of at least $35,000 so it interests me as a way to enter the real estate game, and I'd just like some feedback :-)

Myself do not work for foxtons but a women in my real estate class had a job with foxtons upon completion of the class, and the reasons was the benfits you cite above, have not talk to her since the class so I do not know how she likes it

First foxtons offer lower commissions to begin with say 3% vs 6% so right off the bat you will have a lower commission for a sale, maybe 1% of the sale price not sure wouldn't bet a higher commission, in exchanged you get the car and 35K a year while that may not seem much in the over all real estate market in NJ it gives you something

If you where working for a reagular agency in nj you would be most likely independent contractor, reasponsible for your businness cards and advertising of any properties you listed. Hence many first times in RE market not only do not make anything first year, they will loose money becasue of the amount of monies you will spend in advertsing to get your name out to the public

Also it seems many of the other agencies refuse to show there clients foxtons homes becasue of the lower commission, while this is illegal it does go on, so when lisitng a home under foxton chances are you will have a smaller pool of buyers to choose from becasue even thoug the home will be listed in the MLS, other RE will refuse to give that listing to a potential buyer becasue the commission is so low, illegal pratice but no one gets call on the carpet for it

His important obstacle is that men and women do not desire their tuition elegance measurement elevated for his or her children. Jersey is an luxurious location to are living, and the tuition taxes are regional, no longer state, they've one of the crucial maximum estate taxes within the nation, I recognize that given that I moved out twenty 5 years in the past given that of the outrageous taxes. Its no longer greed that makes men and women desire to be in a position to are living in which they paintings, its practicality. His moment obstacle is that he is getting a few relatively deficient understanding. He stopped a creation obstacle that might have stronger commuter ease in attending to in which they paintings, stated its 'projected' fee overruns might be too top, now I do not brain if he converted his brain, however a) the commuters is not going to vote for him, and b) anybody must have advised him he might ought to go back the $271 million the feds had already given him for the undertaking, he are not able to simply maintain that money. Oh after which there may be the problem of the $four hundred million in academic greenbacks that NJ would possibly not be getting as a result of a glitch within the bureaucracy that his guy in schooling did not dossier on time, in spite of being notified by means of the feds that the paintings had to be filed. In truth Christie made a idiot of himself by means of getting on TV and reaming Obama, while the fault used to be together with his possess men and women. Christie is at very pleasant a combined bag, like plenty of men and women who've held the degree he does not observe the results of among the matters he is stated he'll do. The penalties of his movements are being felt, in these days he stated that he would possibly not ought to lay off 2 hundred,000 state staff given that such a lot of have left as a result of attrition. Thinking forward, that is going to intend extra issues with the state pension process, and that is no longer a well factor to gloat approximately.

I've heard many negative things about Foxton's. First, they have fired many agent's after a year and failed to pay comission to them. I have heard many bad things and notice they don't have office's. You should ask other agents in the industry and they will tell you.
