jackal is an African wild dog that eats dead things. Like a Hyena. To call some one jackals means they are sitting around waiting for someone else to do the work then they come in, always in packs, never alone, and pick up the pieces.

Jackals is the plural form of "Jackal" which is a savage dog-like animal. They are found mainly on the African continent.

well I thought it meant vultures.... but the dictionary says a jackal is a dog-like wild animal..
