Everyone dreams (blind people included) and in general, people's dream experience is similar to their waking experience. Since they were blind from birth, they do not have a lot of visual stimuli to draw on for their dreams, so they have dreams that are primarily auditory, tactile or even involve taste and smell. People who lose their sight very early (before age five) apparently experience no visual imagery in their dreams. Visual imagery is a variable for those who lose their sight between ages five and seven. People who lose their sight after age seven almost always have some level of visual imagery present in their dreams. They've done extensive studies and have also found that REM sleep is disturbed in blind people, so they may actually dream less.

Not sure if you are being a smart as5 or not but this actually a good question and a lot of study has been done. They still have active minds in their dream state but if they have always been blind then they have no actual reference as to what something looks like. Most studies have concluded that they do dream but what they see is only relative to what they can comprehend or imagine. Their mind manufactures images based on what they have touched or heard. its pretty amazing how close the mind can create and recreate things based on touch and description. The real question is do they dream in color? Can the mind create something that can't be touch and can't be created?

Hi yaar,
Really I appreciate your question.Ya you are right, Blind people can dream.why can't they? They don't have eyes, they don't see the nature. But they can have feelings and they can imagine the things as normal like the people who have vision. So they can dream.

Yes, but images may not be the same type that we see. The images may be formed by sounds, feelings, emotions, etc. And if they could see before, but lost their sight after, I'm sure they can.
