Yes, because we forgive others for our own benefit. So we can let go of the anger and get on with our lives. It really doesn't have anything to do with the other person.

As it says in the Lords Prayer, forgive those that trespass against us. I have always believed that "true" friends should never have to apologize for transgressions. Everybody screws up sometime and they appreciate a break. Also "to make a mistake is Human..To forgive is Divine"

Ive done it plenty of times. Sometimes I dont really want to but life is just too short to hold grudges for a long time. Its tiring and depressing. If the person keeps on doing things that they need to apologize for, then they have a problem and I dont want to be bothered. Once or twice is fine even if it was something big but you keep on and on then you can go see where you gotta go!

when i love someone , or when it isn't a big mistake, i can forgive, even they don't apologize. HOW?
After sleeping i imaging this one and make a discussion with him , I suppose the replying and see if i can forgive him . in the morning when i see him i cannot remember his mistake talking with him as nothing happen. BUT after a while I clarified his mistake to him to not repeating it again.
IF I DON'T THIS I will be alone in this world.

This has been a difficult thing for me to learn to do but I have gotten better at it. I have learned that forgiveness is as much for the forgiver as it is for the one being forgiven. When I forgive someone for what they have done to me, it frees me and my mind and that person no longer has control over one minute of my day or my life. Once you have forgiven someone it's easier to go forward and forget about it.

After a very vociferous argument on the golf course, in which threats, bad language and shouting all played their part, I left and went home, still in a temper. However, having calmed down and seen the errors of my way, I typed a truly apologetic letter and addressed it to the three men involved. Next morning, I saw one of them sitting on a bench and as I approached, he rose from the seat and walked towards me with his hand out. I handed him the letter and sat down beside him while he read it. Having done so, be began to cry and shook my hand and walked away.
I kept the letter and now, I merely change the names whenever I need to apologise........................... (last para is only joking)..

Yes, however it doesn't mean one has to subject themselves to another's problem by being part of it.
