u may have set it to hibernate when it gets inactive for some period of time.To adjust that.
1)Right Click on ur desktop->Properties-->Settings-->Screen Saver-->(Power)-->Hibernate.Uncheck the hibernation option.

Check the power saving settings in control panel... probably called something like 'Power Options' and check the values taht are set in it.

Mine is set to hibernate after 1 hour on battery and never on mains... if you've got a short time set then it will hibernate after you last typed.
