Personally, I think that the choice should be up to you and the husband. When I was choosing names for my children, I never put much thought into whether it was a common name or not. I chose it because I felt that it was what my child would like while being part of our family. Congratulations on your new bundle, and follow your heart. If you like the name use it. Dont worry about what those in society will think of your child's name.

I really like Gavin but would change the spelling of Reece to Reese. For some reason the spelling with the C seems like a girls name to me.
Also, maybe a different middle name something more classic to go with a more unusual first name like:
Gavin Andrew
Gavin Michael
Gavin Alexander
etc.

I like the name Gavin, but I also think it is becoming a very common name. Between my husband and I, we know 3 couples that named their sons Gavin within the last 5 years or so.

Not common at all...however Reece is better spelles Rhys for a boy. It masculinizes it but still sounds great with Gavin!

I really like both of those names. I am pregnant now and my husband and I considered both of those names if the baby were boy. We ended up deciding on Reece, but we would spell it Rhys, the traditional Welsh way. Maybe that is less common? Anyway, I really like it.
