take a lot of popsicle sticks (after you get over the brain freeze).. and glue them together in the shape of a ship.... Viking if possible... and there you go

Find yourself a good drawing or photo to follow as a plan.
Sand the sticks very smooth, and of course cut off the rounded ends as square as you can. You would probably find it simpler to make it in sub assemblies..ie hull...sides, and glue together with white or carpenters glue. You might also find it easier to glue the sticks to a cardboard form....that way you can immitate how the planking is staggered (like a hardwood floor) You can stain the wood with a commercial stain, or markers. A dowel or pencil filed or sanded round would make a mast.....coloured paper a sail...oars maybe from toothpicks for shafts and paper for paddle part. Have fun!!!!!!!!!
