YOU must use a licensed firm to dispose of the material. If you do not you will be liable. Check with your local building code office to determine if it is permissible for an owner to self remove the material.

If you remove it DO NOT break it into pieces. Asbestos is only dangerous when it is friable and it becomes friable thru breaking/cutting and boring.

Speak to your local council and they will be able to advise you as to what your options are. You can also contact an asbestos specialist in Yell.com. Dont remove it yourself!! the cost of specialist removal far outweighs the risk to yours and others health.

£500 max

the council normally have a depot that will take 3 sheets at a time.

asbestos sheets are safe if kept in sheet form. dismantle carefully with minimum cutting, breaking and drilling..

its one of those funny rules in that you can do the job yourself, but if you pay someone they need to be registered.
