Download the latest sdat from http://www.mcafee.com/apps/downloads/security_updates/superdat.asp?region=us&segment=enterprise. Download the sdat (sdatxxxx.exe where xxxx is some number. As of 8:15 central time on 01/10/07 it is sdat4935.exe) on another computer and burn it to a cd. If you don't have another computer, you could try hitting the key upon bootup an choose the "safe mode with networking" option so you could access the internet on this machine. Creat a new folder on the C drive called Mcafee. Open a command window (Start -> Run "cmd" ). In the command window, type "cd c:\mcafee" , "sdatxxxx.exe /e" (That command should take a few seconds to run) Then type "scan.exe /adl /clean /all /sub /!guru /mime /unzip /rpterr /report c:\mcafee\report.txt" Be sure not to type the ""'s just the stuff inside. Also means to hit the enter key. This scans the computer with the latest virus signitures from McAfee. After the scan completes, make sure you install an antivirus application and a firewall before trying to get back on the internet. I hope this helps.

Below is the lnk for a full description of this worm. As AVG is affected and targeted, please ignore anyone answering with this solution.
Avast however, is NOT affected. Here is what I would do:
Download Avast Professional, Avast Cleaner, and Winpatrol from original websites - not alternative sites - and burn on CD.
Uninstall any AV that is currently on the system.
Disconnect from Internet (pull the cable out).
Restart in "safe mode"
Disable System Restore
Install Winpatrol and disable ALL non-system startup files - AND - modify HOSTS file to take out all the blocks that the worm put in.
Run Avast Cleaner
Install Avast Professional and schedule "boot scan" on restart.
Logon normally.
If all seems well, connect to internet and do Avast update. Do another boot scan - restart
Logon Normally
Check Winpatrol startups, services, and HOSTS to verify nothing changed
Make determination at this point what to do next. Praying is always good! If clean, make sure that ALL windows updates have been applied.
Kick my self in the butt for opening an email attachment that I shouldn't have!
If the above doesn't work, take it to a repair shop.

Get to Safe Mode. Or run an AV Bootdisc that will scan your system. Alternatively, see if you can Boot from your AV CD, and get it to scan the Hard drive. Most Good AV's can do a Boot from CD and subsequent Scan.
