Helloo~

I am renting a house on my own with my bf and neither of us have lived alone before so in all fairness...when it comes to technical things, we're noobs :/

Anyways, this place we're renting its a huge house and its very old and the person before us had a washer and dryer. The Dryer was down in the basement connected directly through the fuse box and the washer was upstairs in the kitchen (odd I know) She moved out and we moved in. The washer and dryer didn't work... and we had problems with the electrcity shutting off randomly...so we had a breaker box put in.

What I need to know is, now that the old fuse box is out, what would I need to look for in order to know if I can have a washer and dryer in my house? My mom tells me to look for "the box" for my dryer to connect to, but I have no clue what shes talking about...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

i think the "dryer box" that your mom is refering to is the electrical plug (220 volts). This is not your small normal 3 prong outlet. You should have 2 lines(1 hot 1 cold) coming out of the back of the washer.if you have the hot and the cold to connect your washer to then you should be fine.you will also need to have a drain near by for the discharge hose(also located on the back of the washer)
as for the dryer make sure that you have a place for it to vent.usuallly they vent through the floor or ceiling and exit the side of your house.make sure you have your house has these things and you are ready to go

communicate on your land loard and discover out who the electrician replaced into, ascertain that the artwork replaced into as much as code formerly you plug something in and you initiate up something that cannot be reversed, if theres a receptical for the dryer, ask him to instruct you the place this is, and the thank you to apply it appropriate. ascertain that the exhaust traces from the dryer to the outdoors are clean and clean and that there's no lint improve in there. exceptionally lots the comparable undertaking for the washer, in that it is going to be with the aid of itself circuit and all the water traces are routed to and from the unit they dont chafe the partitions and or taps and drains

Your best solution is to ask the person who put the breaker box in for advice. I am thinking you may have electrical problems. Good luck
